Project Overview

Some projects hold a special significance, and our work at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beatrice, Nebraska, is certainly one of them. Located right here in our hometown, this project gave us the opportunity to contribute to a church within our own community. It was also an extensive undertaking, encompassing not only new sanctuary pews but a complete collection of custom liturgical furnishings, including an Altar of Sacrifice, Ambo, Baptismal Font, communion railings, shrines, and an Altar of Repose reredos.

Design and Installation Details

For the sanctuary seating, we crafted our PB-60 pews featuring custom-designed pew ends. Each pew was equipped with integrated bookracks and kneelers, providing comfort and functionality while maintaining a traditional appearance. We also created matching pew frontal screens to complement the seating and provide a cohesive look throughout the sanctuary.

Beyond the pews, a significant portion of this project involved crafting the church’s new liturgical furnishings. These included an Altar of Sacrifice, Ambo, and Baptismal Font, each serving an important role within the church’s worship and sacramental celebrations. We also provided communion railings to further complement the sanctuary and its furnishings.

The project also included several distinctive devotional pieces, including a St. Mary Shrine and a St. Joseph Shrine. In addition, we crafted an Altar of Repose reredos, adding another significant element to the church’s collection of liturgical furnishings. Together, these pieces help create a unified and welcoming worship space, bringing consistency in craftsmanship throughout the church.

Being able to complete a project of this scale in our own hometown made the experience particularly rewarding for our team. We are grateful to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for placing their trust in Ratigan-Schottler and allowing us to contribute to a space that holds such importance within our local community. It is a privilege to see our craftsmanship serve a church so close to home.
